One of the most successful and decorated women in football is Mia Hamm. The American adds in his record two World Cups, two Olympic gold medals and four NCAA national championships. She was chosen as FIFA's Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002, and is part of the list of the 125 best living footballers of all time. In 2004 she retired and in her country she is seen as a pioneer not only of women's soccer but also of women athletes.
