IRELAND PROJECT

The Giant's Causeway

The legend tells giants, one from Ireland (Finn) and another from Staffa (Bennandoner), who got along very badly and continuously threw rocks. And Finn made a bridge with very resistant rocks and step on the other side tantirar rocks formed a c. The Scottish giant decided to pass the path of rocks and defeat his adversary, as he was stronger than the other. The wife of the Irish giant (Oonagh) saw how the Scottish giant came, so she decided to dress her husband as a baby. When the Scots arrived and saw that the baby was so big, he thought that his father would be triple as big, so he fled stomping the rocks, so that they would sink into the sea and that the other giant could not reach Staffa. There are many versions of the legend. The other version tells that Finn Mac Cool and Benandonner were friends and together they built a bridge of stones.

TRADITIONS

Two-up

Dating back to the convicts, Two-up was popularised by the Diggers in World War I and involves tossing two coins into the air and gambling on how they might fall. In Victoria, the game is illegal every day except on Anzac Day, while in New South Wales, the game is legal not only on Anzac Day but also other commemorative days.Ver las imágenes de origen

Muck Up Day

While not condoning the Choppergate prank or putting the principal’s car up for sale, muck up day is a rite of passage for all year 12 students and should be enjoyed responsibly while wearing a ridiculous costume. From parades and water guns to harmless pranks and tearful goodbyes, muck up day is a celebration that all senior year students deserve.Ver las imágenes de origen

Small Talk with Cabbies

If catching a taxi alone, it’s expected that you’ll not only sit up front in the passenger seat but that you’ll also engage in small talk with the cabbie. If you don’t know how the taxi driver’s day has been and have no clue how he or she found themselves in said industry by the end of the journey, then you need to reevaluate your life in Australia.

The 1992 Summer Olympic Games (SpanishJuegos Olímpicos de Verano de 1992CatalanJocs Olímpics d'estiu de 1992), officially known as the Games of the XXV Olympiad, was an international multi-sport event celebrated in BarcelonaCataloniaSpainfrom July 25 to August 9, 1992.
Beginning in 1994, the International Olympic Committee decided to hold the games in alternating even-numbered years; as a result, the 1992 Summer Olympics were the last competition to be staged in the same year as the Winter Olympics. The games were the first to be unaffected by boycotts since 1972 and the first summer games since the end of the Cold War.
The Unified Team topped the medal table, winning 45 gold and 112 overall medals.

Highlights

  • At the Opening Ceremony Greek mezzo-soprano Agnes Baltsa sang "Romiossini" as the Olympic flag was paraded around the stadium. Alfredo Kraus later sang the Olympic Hymn in both Catalan and Spanish as the flag was hoisted.
  • South Africa was allowed to compete in the Olympic Games for the first time since the 1960 Summer Olympics, after a long suspension for its apartheid policy. After a close race in the Women's 10,000 metres event, white South African runner Elana Meyer and black Ethiopian runner Derartu Tulu (winner) ran a victory lap together, hand-in-hand.

  • In basketball, the admittance of NBA players led to the formation of the "Dream Team" of the United States, featuring Michael JordanMagic JohnsonLarry Bird and other NBA stars. Prior to 1992, only European and South American professionals were allowed to compete, while the Americans used college players. The Dream Team won the gold medal and was inducted as a unit into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.

TWO SWEAT BLOOD.

1.To work very intensely and diligently; to expend all of one's energy or effort doing something. We sweated blood forsix months straight, but we finally got our product finished and on store shelves. My mother and father sweated bloodto provide for me   and my siblings.
2. To suffer intense distress, anxiety, worry, or fear. My passport had expired just before the trip, so I was sweatingblood as we went over the border into Canada. Some of these kids sweat blood every time we have to give them atest.

MUSIC

1) What period does the Middle Ages cover?
lasted from the 5th to the 15th century.

2) What general characteristics does it have (according to the teacher’s comments)?

  1. Not a time of darkness, but a time of culture, arts and music
  2. An advance in government and theory
  3. Human rights and democracy was first understood how it is today
3) What is the main difference between “troubadours” and “minstrels”?

Troubadour is a synonym of minstrel.

As nouns the difference between troubadour and minstrel

is that troubadour is an itinerant composer and performer of songs in medieval europe; a jongleur or travelling minstrel while minstrel is (historical) a medieval traveling entertainer who would sing and recite poetry, often to his own musical accompaniment.
4) Pay attention to these two monuments (a Romanic church and a Gothic cathedral). What do their different heights have in common with the music evolution of those centuries?
both are creepy.
5) What do you feel looking at these pictures (taken from the 19th century but directly linked to the Middle Ages)? In your own opinion, what kind of music could accompany these images?
they transsmet me love.
6) Why does Heavy Metal music love this aesthetic?
Because the heavy metal music is  creepy and agressive so strange things or scary thing help.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT : P.E

Hi guys Im Emma, and Im going o talk about what do I eat in a normal day.

For Breakfast I usually have milk whith fruit or cereals.

For the breaks I bring cookies, york sandwinch, fruit depending on the day.

For lunch I had soup and pig meet, for dessert I eat a yoguth.

Last but not least, for dinner I had, fish whit salad(letuce, corn, carrot and tomatoe)

I think its not a bad meal, but I could improve it adding more fruit, variety of fish and meet, including more vegetables because the fruit Is the healthiest way to consume sugar, fizzy drinks and pastries are unhealthy.
